by Johann Strauss

Opera della Luna presents the first professional UK production of an enchanting operetta by Johann Strauss; a story of political intrigue, royal adultery, and a bullfight.

Das Spitzentuch der Konigin was a huge success in Vienna and New York in the 1880s but was never presented in London.   Many of its tunes are now well-known to us, as Strauss later re-used them in his famous orchestral waltzes. ‘Roses of the South’ is just one of the many well-loved melodies contained within the show’s sparkling score.

Opera della Luna return to Wilton’s Music Hall following sell-out performances of Tales of Offenbach last year.
