The Young Artists of the National Opera Studio and the Orchestra of Opera North perform Cautionary Tales, conducted by Garry Walker and directed by Olivia Fuchs.
Following their week-long residency with Opera North in Leeds, the National Opera Studio’s Young Artists make their much-anticipated return to London’s Wilton’s Music Hall showcasing their recent opera scenes production.
Conducted by Opera North's Music Director Garry Walker and woven together by acclaimed opera director Olivia Fuchs, Cautionary Tales features contemporary opera scenes from some of today’s most celebrated composers including: Tom Coult, Tansy Davies, Jonathan Dove, Søren Nils Eichberg, Elena Kats-Chernin, Steven Mackey, Errollyn Wallen and Judith Weir.
Surreal, witty and thought-provoking, these tales of transformation deal with the tensions of contemporary life. They cover a diverse range of subject matters from climate change and animal rights to artificial intelligence and gender identity with humour and compassion.
Performed in English.
